Richland's Strickler Commits to Run for Falcons

SEATTLE (Apr. 28) ­ Suzie Strickler, Richland High School's top middle distance runner, has signed a national letter of intent to compete in track and field and cross country at Seattle Pacific University next season.

Strickler finished 20th in the state 4A cross country championships last fall and she took fifth in the 800-meter run at the prestigious Pasco Invitational last week. She had concentrated on soccer and sprinting prior to her senior season. Suzie is the younger sister of Eddie Strickler, who is a sophomore on the SPU track and cross country squads.

Seattle Pacific has won 12 conference titles in women's track and cross country since 1993 and has finished among the top 20 in NCAA Division II track 15 times.
