Falcon Gymnasts Seek Fourth National Title
April 12, 2005

SEATTLE – Seattle Pacific University, seeded No. 4, pursues its fourth national crown at the USAG Gymnastics Collegiate Championships to be held Thursday through Saturday (Apr. 14-16) in Ithaca, N.Y.

The Falcons placed seventh at nationals last year, breaking a 20-year streak of top-four finishes. Centenary was the 2004 champion, followed by Texas Woman’s and UC Davis.

The meet, which features eight Division II teams, consists of three days that bring elimination. Thursday determines the four teams that advance to Friday’s finals, as well as the berths for Saturday’s individual event finals (top eight, plus ties).

Several gymnasts are capable of winning individual titles during the meet, including Debra Huss (So., Orangevale, Ca.), Kari Kelly (Sr., Yakima, Wa.), Jaynie Reynolds (Jr., White Rock B.C.) and Sarah Sullivan (So., Salem, Or.), all who came home All-Americans in 2004.
