Complete Results

SEATTLE (Mar. 19) Danielle Ayers-Stamper of Seattle Pacific University surpassed the national qualifying standard and won the 100-meter hurdles in her outdoor season debut at the Husky Preview track and field meet in cold, wet conditions at Husky Stadium Saturday.

Ayers-Stamper (Jr., LaCrosse, Wa.) was one of the Falcons' five winners. Coming off a national indoor title in the high jump last week, she matched her career-best time of 14.56 seconds to become the fifth SPU woman on the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying list.

Lauren VerMulm (Fr., Mount Vernon, Wa.), who first hit the javelin qualifying mark a week ago, improved her distance by nearly 2 feet to 143-10. She was second.

Paul Mach (Sr., Seattle, Wa./King's) turned in an impressive double in his return after sitting out the indoor campaign. Mach finished first in the 800 meters in 1:55.67 and also was seventh in the 1500 (3:56.62). Both were season-best times in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Other wins came from Brandi McCoy (So., Richland, Wa.) in the steeplechase, in a PR of 11:59.23; and pole vaulters Ally Studer (Sr., Redmond, Wa.) and Amy Harris (Jr., Philomath, Or.), both matching Washington's Myrriah Swango at 11 feet, 3¾ inches.

Seattle Pacific will send a travel team to California next week, beginning with a multi-event meet at Berkeley on Wednesday, followed by the Stanford Invitational on Friday.
