Falcon Women Move Up to No. 3 As Elite 8 Approaches
March 15, 2005

SEATTLE (Mar. 15) – Seattle Pacific University made its first move upward in the national rankings since January, taking the No. 3 position going into next week’s NCAA Division II women’s basketball Elite Eight.

The Falcons’ victory in the West Regional tournament, coupled with a loss by previously top-ranked Drury (Mo.), resulted an improvement from No. 4 the past four weeks. Shaw (NC) is the new No. 1, followed by Washburn (Ks.).

Grand Valley State (Mi.), which will meet SPU in a national quarterfinal game Mar. 23 in Hot Springs, Ark., climbed seven places to No. 9.
