Taylor Named Finalist for Women's Basketball All-America Team

SEATTLE (Mar. 14) -- Amy Taylor of Seattle Pacific University has been named as one of 41 finalists for the Kodak WBCA All-America team after being voted first team all-West Region.

Taylor, earlier selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference player of the year ,was one of five selections to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association regional team.

Taylor (Sr., 5-8, Shoreline, Wa./Shorewood), the Falcons' leading scorer (12.5) and playmaker (3.8), was voted all-region by a vote of sports information directors last week.

Joining her on the first team were Candice Allen of Cal Pomona, Kim Abts of Chico State, Tina Donahue of Western Washington and Katie McElree of Cal State Bakersfield.

The All-America team will be announced Mar. 22, on the eve of the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
