BOISE, Id. (Mar. 11) - Despite a season high
score of 192.650, the Seattle Pacific University gymnastics team
was out-tumbled by Penn State, host Boise State and San Jose State
in a quadrangular women's gymnastics meet Friday night at Taco
Bell Arena.
The Penn State Nittany Lions, ranked 13th in
NCAA Division I, scored 196.025, followed by the Boise State
Broncos with 195.950, and San Jose State Spartans with 193.450.
Lindsay Ward of Boise State was the star of the
evening, tieing for first with Penn State's Kristal Uzelzcon on
bars (9.875) and teammate Kristin Aldrich on beam (9.900) en route
to winning the all-around (39.475).
Debra Huss (So., Orangevale, Ca.) of Seattle
Pacific tied for third on uneven bars with Cecile Allen of Penn
State and Carla Chambers of Boise State with a 9.825. As a team,
the Falcons scored a season high 48.450 on bars for the best event
performance of the night.
Sarah Sullivan (So., Salem, Or.) finished with
a career-high all-around score of 38.925 to finish third.
The Falcons host Alaska Anchorage in the last
regular meet of the season Mar. 19
