SEATTLE - Seattle Pacific University will sends
its largest group of competitors, including three-event qualifier
Danielle Ayers-Stamper, to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track &
Field Championships in Boston Mar. 11-12.
In all, the Falcons have eight women entered in
a total seven events, including one relay. Ayers-Stamper (Jr., La
Crosse, Wa.) is the top-seeded high-jumper (5-9½). She is
also competing in the long jump and 60-meter hurdles.
Ayers-Stamper is also the only past qualifiers, having taken 13th
in the indoor high jump as a freshman.
Karen Dickson (So., El Dorado Hills, Ca./Oak
Ridge) is the other multiple entry. Dickson is the No. 3 seed in
the 5000 and also will run the 1600 leg of the distance medley
relay. Joining her on that team are Josie Lavin (Jr., Bremerton,
Wa./Bremerton), Kinyatta Leonhardt (So., Petaluma, Ca./St.
Vincent), Bridgette Sexton (Fr., LaCenter, Wa.) and alternate
Karin Rohde (Fr., Bellingham, Wa./Mt. Baker).
Rounding out the travel squad are pole vaulters
Allie Hedges (Jr., Richland, Wa.) and Amy Harris (Jr., Philomath,
Or./Crescent Valley).
Previously, Seattle Pacific had not qualified
more than three individuals for the national indoor meet.
The first outdoor action for the Falcons is a
three-way scored meet with Puget Sound and Lewis & Clark
Saturday in Tacoma.
