SEATTLE (Feb. 28) Carli Smith of Seattle Pacific University was selected as co-player of the week for women's basketball in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Smith (Jr., 5-11, Spokane, Wa./Valley Christian) scored 28 points (on 13 of 22 shooting) and also pulled down 28 rebounds as the Falcons clinched the GNAC's automatic berth in the NCAA West Region playoffs. She equaled the conference single-game record with 22 rebounds in Saturday's 76-61 win over Western Washington (originally set by SPU's Kristin Poe in 2002).
