NAMPA, Id. (Feb. 12) The Crusaders came
across the Falcons on the wrong night. Behind career nights from
Quinn Brewe and Carli Smith, nationally second-ranked Seattle

nights after suffering its first league loss in over three years.
The Falcons, who are also ranked No. 1 in the
west region, improved to 12-1 in the Great Northwest Athletic
Conference and 19-2 overall. Seattle Pacific came out strong,
capturing a 47-22 lead, in an impressive performance after having
their league winning streak of 53 games snapped on Thursday at
Saint Martins. The Crusaders fell to 3-9 in the GNAC and

Smith also hauled in a team-high 10 boards for her seventh
double-double of the season.
Point guard Amy Taylor (Sr., 5-8, Shoreline,
Wa./Shorewood) got the Falcons, who never trailed in the game, off
to a blazing start. She opened the game with one of her four three
pointers as SPU jumped out to a 10-point lead just eight minutes
into the game. Taylor, who three treys and totaled 16 points by
halftime, finished with a season-high 21. She was 8-for-13 from
the field, including 4-for-5 from long range.
The Crusaders climbed back to within six with
just under eight minutes left in the half, but Taylor buried a
three that led to a 25-6 SPU run to finish the half. The Falcons
scored 21 unanswered points to begin the run, holding NNU
scoreless for over six minutes. Northwest Nazarene never got
closer than 20 throughout the rest of the game.

(91 percent) from the free-throw line. SPU out-rebounded NNU
