SEATTLE, Wa. (Jan. 30) Allie Hedges and
Amy Harris of Seattle Pacific University posted NCAA Division II
provisional qualifying marks in the pole vault in the University
of Washington Open #2 indoor track-and-field meet Sunday at
Dempsey Indoor.
Hedges (Jr., Richland, Wa.) finished second and
Harris (Jr., Philomath, Or.) took third in clearing 11 feet, 11½
inches in the pole vault. Harris improved her personal record by
six inches.
Kinyatta Leonhardt (So., Petaluma, Ca.) won the
400 in 58.99 seconds and ran a Great Northwest Athletic Conference
season-best time of 8.07 in the prelims of the 60 to finish fourth
in the finals in a time of 8.09.
Other highlights from the meet include Karin
Rohde (Fr., Bellingham, Wa.) who took third in the 3,000 and,
along with Hedges, improved on her previous conference-leading
marks. Josie Lavin (Jr., Bremerton, Wa.) was fourth in the 800 in
2:18.66.
The next meet to feature the full SPU team is
the UW Indoor Open #3 Feb. 13.
