SEATTLE (Jan. 17) ­ Karen Dickson of Seattle Pacific University was selected the Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's indoor track and field athlete of the week following her impressive debut race.

Dickson, Seattle Pacific (So., El Dorado Hills, Ca./Oak Ridge) won the 5,000 meters in the Husky Preview in a school and GNAC record time of 17:20.73, better the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard by 40 seconds.

Dickson's next scheduled race is Jan. 29 at the Washington Invitational.
