SEATTLE (Jan. 3) Amy Taylor of Seattle
Pacific University was named women's basketball player of the week
in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference for the second time in
three weeks following a pair of home wins during the holidays.
Taylor (Sr., 5-8, Sr., Shoreline,
Wa.,/Shorewood) earned MVP at the GNAC/CCAA Challenge after
leading the No. 4-ranked Falcons to wins over Cal State L.A. and
Cal Poly Pomona. She scored a total of 36 points and added 15
assists plus six steals, including 19 points, nine assists and
three steals in a 90-65 win over 12th-ranked Cal Poly Pomona.
A winner of eight games in a row, SPU (10-1)
resumes GNAC play Thursday at Humboldt State.
