Seattle Pacific Women Remain in Top Five Nationally

SEATTLE (Dec. 7) Seattle Pacific University remained among the top 10 NCAA Division II women's basketball teams as the first poll of the regular season was issued.

The Falcons (5-1), who suffered their first regular-season loss in three years last month, are rated No. 5, dropping two places from their perch in the preseason poll.

Seattle Pacific was beaten by North Dakota Nov. 26 in Grand Forks. The Fighting Sioux are now No. 10.

Drury (Mo.) replaced defending national champion California (Pa.) at the top of the coaches poll .

The only other West teams included in the rankings is Cal Poly Pomona at No. 16. The Broncos visit SPU Dec. 30.

Seattle Pacific plays Sonoma State at San Francisco Friday night.
