SEATTLE (Nov. 22) Mandy Wood of Seattle
Pacific University was named women's basketball player of the week
in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference after sparking the
Falcons to a pair of wins to open the season.
Wood (Jr., 5-6, Port Angeles, Wa.) scored 30
points and also had eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals
to earn MVP honors in the Sodexho Tip-Off Classic. She connected
on 10 of 22 shots, including 6- 14 from outside the arc. SPU is
now defeated in its last 62 regular season games.
The No. 3-ranked Falcons (2-0) visit No. 7
North Dakota Friday in Grand Forks.
