SEATTLE (Nov. 20) ­ Mandy Wood and Amy Taylor each connected on four three-pointers and combined for 30 points as No. 3-ranked Seattle Pacific University pulled away from George Fox, 72-46, in the final game of the Sodexho tip-Off Classic Saturday night at Brougham Pavilion.

Wood, Taylor and Michelle Beaumont (Sr., 5-11, Bellingham, Wa./Sehome) each hit treys during 12-2 run which broke open the game five minutes into the second half. Taylor¹s 20-footer from the left side put the Falcons (2-0) in front 44-3. Later, threes by Taylor and Autumn Fielding pushed the margin to 22 points, at 58-36.

Taylor (Sr., 5-8, Shoreline, Wa./Shorewood) finished with 14 points and Wood (Jr., 6, Port Angeles, Wa.) 16. together, they made 8-17 outside the arc.

The Bruins (0-2) got 13 points apiece from Liz Clark and Kellie Thomas. They were just 15-57 from the field (26 percent) and were out-rebounded 47-35. Clark also had 12 boards.

Brittney Kroon (Jr., 6-4, Wasilla, Ak.) totaled 11 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for SPU, which won its 62nd straight regular season game and its 17th in a row, overall, at home.

Seattle Pacific started each half slow, and George Fox trimmed a 14-point lead to 32-28 on a three-pointer by Thomas two minutes into the second period. But Kroon responded with a three-point play on a short jumper in the lane to start the SPU surge.

Overall, Seattle Pacific was 10-25 from the outside and 16-20 at the foul line.

The Falcons will travel to No. 7-ranked North Dakota for their next game Friday.

SEATTLE (Nov. 20) – Jamie Corwin scored five of her game-high 21 points during a 16-3 Central Washington run as the Wildcats cruised to an easy 88-40 victory over Warner Pacific in the opening game of the second and final day of the Sodexho Tip-Off Classic hosted by Seattle Pacific Saturday afternoon at Brougham Pavilion.

Central Washington (2-0) finished tournament play with two victories in as many games. Warner Pacific (0-2) was held without a win in both of its contests.

Corwin shot 9-for-15 from the field and also finished with five rebounds in three steals. Laura Wright chipped in 19 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots. Ashley Blake scored 16 off the bench for the Cats.

Angie Sun led the Knights in scoring with eight points. Amber Stevens and Lindsey Wells scored six points apiece.

Central Washington, who led 36-17 at the break, shot 41 percent from the field and held Warner Pacific to just 24.5 percent. The Cats dominated the rebounds, holding a 55-35 margin. Central scored 39 points off 36 turnovers and outscored the Knights 32-10 in the paint.
