Complete Match Stats

NAMPA, Id. (Nov. 11) Alyssa Given pounded a career-high 21 kills to lead Seattle Pacific to a 3-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match on Thursday night in Nampa, Idaho.

The Falcons (11-6 GNAC, 15-10) have surged into playoff consideration with their season-high fourth straight victory and eighth in their last 10 matches. SPU rebounded from a slow start to knock off Northwest Nazarene (9-8 GNAC, 14-10) by a score of 25-30, 30-20, 30-25, 30-22.

Given (Fr., Salinas, Ca./Notre Dame) also had four digs and tallied a team-high 22.5 points in the win. Chelsey Myers (Jr., Minden, Nv./Douglas) added 18 kills and 17 digs. Kathleen Monda (Sr., Woodinville, Wa.) chipped in 11 kills and 11 digs, and Whitney Dibble (So., Reno, Nv./Galena) finished with 11 kills and five blocks, including three solo.

Tiffany Butac (So., Pearl City, Hi./Hawaii Baptist) led the defensive effort with a match-high 28 digs. GNAC blocks leader Katie Ralph (Jr., Port Orchard, Wa./South Kitsap) had six kills and five block assists. Jenna Von Moos (So., Stanwood, Wa.) led all players with 55 assists to go along with eight kills, 12 digs and five blocks in a stellar all-around performance.

Lindsay Miller led NNU with 21 kills and 15 digs. Allison James had 11 kills and 16 digs in the loss.

Seattle Pacific continues to keep its hopes as a postseason long shot alive. SPU finished 12th in the final regional poll released earlier this week, as it fights for one of eight west region berths in the NCAA II tournament.

The Falcons wrap up the regular season on Saturday in a GNAC match against the region’s No. 11 team in Seattle University. With a win, the Falcons would catch their city rival for third in the GNAC standings. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.
