SEATTLE (Nov. 10) Ashley Fenimore of
Lynnwood's Meadowdale High School has signed a national letter of
intent to play women's basketball for Seattle Pacific University.
Fenimore, a 5-foot-7 senior guard, will be
reunited with prep teammate Quinn Brewe. Together, they led
Meadowdale to a 26-1 record and the state 3A tournament
championship last season. Brewe, the Mavericks' top scorer, makes
her collegiate debut when SPU begins play Nov. 19. As a junior,
Fenimore averaged 7.9 points and 6.8 assists, setting a school
records for a single game, season and career assists. She was
first team all-area and all-state, and was first team all-Wesco as
a junior and sophomore.
Under coach Gordy Presnell, Seattle Pacific is
seeking its third straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference
title this season. It has qualified for the NCAA Division II
tournament each of the last eight years, advancing to the Elite
Eight with a 30-1 record in 2004.
