Kathleen Monda tied for a match-high with 12 kills to lead Seattle Pacific to a 3-0 sweep of Western Oregon Saturday night.

It was the final home match of the season for SPU, who improved to 10-6 in the GNAC and 14-10 overall with an easy 30-14, 30-9, 30-21 victory. The Falcons, who have won seven of their last nine matches, finished with a 6-3 home record this year. Combined with its victory last month over the Wolves, SPU earned its first season series sweep of Western Oregon (4-12 GNAC, 8-16) since the 2000 season.

Monda (Woodinville, Wa.), one of the team’s two graduating seniors, hit for a .367 percentage and added four block assists in the victory. SPU’s other senior, Jessica Bauder(Richland, Wa.), did not play after suffering an ankle injury in last night’s 3-0 victory over Humboldt State.

Chelsey Myers (Jr., Minden, Nv./Douglas) matched Monda with 12 kills to go along with 11 digs and four block assists. She hit at a .385 clip. Seattle Pacific hit a season-high .357 as a team and added to their GNAC lead with 13 blocks in just three games played.

SPU, which also leads the league in opponent hitting percentage, held Western Oregon out of positive figures in all three games. The Wolves hit for a negative percentage in games one and two and hit at a .000 clip in the third. WOU finished at -.054 for the match.

Alyssa Given (Fr., Salinas, Ca./Notre Dame) and Katie Ralph (Jr., Port Orchard, Wa./South Kitsap) added eight kills apiece. Ralph, the GNAC leader in blocks, led all players with seven block assists. Both players also hit above the .300 mark.

Amy Hunt, Nicole Kludt and Kim Tower each had six kills for the Wolves. Hunt and Kludt were just two of three WOU players to hit in positive figures. Kludt also had 10 digs.

The Falcons finish the regular season with a two-match road trip beginning on Thursday at Northwest Nazarene at 6:00 pm. SPU plays at Seattle University next Saturday at 7:00 pm.
