Anchorage, Ak. (Oct. 30) Chelsey Myers had a
match-high 17 kills to lead Seattle Pacific to a 3-0 sweep of
Alaska Anchorage in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference
volleyball match on Saturday night in Anchorage.
Seattle Pacific (8-6 GNAC, 12-10) swept an
opponent for the fourth time in seven matches with a 30-24, 30-22,
30-25 victory. The Falcons won for the fifth time in the past
seven matches. Anchorage dropped to 4-11 in the GNAC and 10-13
overall.
Myers (Jr., Minden, Nv./Douglas) committed just
four errors and hit for a .277 percentage. Jessica Bauder (Sr.,
Richland, Wa.) added 14 kills in the victory. Kathleen Monda (Sr.,
Woodinville, Wa.) and Katie Ralph (Jr., Port Orchard, Wa./South
Kitsap) finished with 10 kills each. Monda also had 16 digs and
hit at a .333 clip, and Ralph tallied four block assists. Setter
Jenna Von Moos (So., Stanwood, Wa.) finished with a match-high 42
assists and 13 digs.
The Falcons had four players in double figures
in kills while limiting Anchorage to no players in double figures.
Carolyn DeKay and Jenny Mitchell led the Seawolves with eight
kills apiece. SPU held Anchorage to just .122 hitting as a team.
Seattle Pacific hit for a .269 percentage.
The Falcons host Humboldt State in a GNAC match
on Friday at 7:00 pm.
