Veltri Named New SPU Men's Basketball Aide
September 15, 2004

SEATTLE (Sept. 15) -- Brock Veltri has been hired as Seattle Pacific University's top assistant coach for men's basketball. Veltri joins Jeff Hironaka's staff following two years in a similar position with Scottsdale Community College in Arizona. He replaces Ben Scheffler, who resigned this summer to move to Wisconsin.

Veltri is in his sixth year of coaching. He began as an assistant for his alma mater, Judge Memorial High School in Salt Lake City. While completing his master's degree in athletic administration, he was on the Idaho State staff as a graduate assistant.

Veltri played two years at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Wa. From there he earned his bachelor's degree in political science at Utah.

The Falcons open their regular season Nov. 19 at Washington.
