SEATTLE (Sept. 15) -- Brock Veltri has been
hired as Seattle Pacific University's top assistant coach for
men's basketball. Veltri joins Jeff Hironaka's staff following two
years in a similar position with Scottsdale Community College in
Arizona. He replaces Ben Scheffler, who resigned this summer to
move to Wisconsin.
Veltri is in his sixth year of coaching. He
began as an assistant for his alma mater, Judge Memorial High
School in Salt Lake City. While completing his master's degree in
athletic administration, he was on the Idaho State staff as a
graduate assistant.
Veltri played two years at Peninsula College in
Port Angeles, Wa. From there he earned his bachelor's degree in
political science at Utah.
The Falcons open their regular season Nov. 19
at Washington.
