SEATTLE (Sept. 14) After a three-year
absence, Seattle Pacific University has returned to the men's
soccer national rankings, receiving a No. 24 rating in this week's
poll conducted by the National Soccer Coaches Association of
America (NSCAA).
The Falcons (3-1-1 pending a Tuesday game at
Humboldt State), are off to their best start in seven years. They
had last earned a national ranking early in the 2001 season.
Despite being in the middle of a 25-day,
seven-game road trip, the Falcons have gone unbeaten in their last
four outings. The last stage of the trip takes them to Florida
later this week. There, they will face No. 9-ranked Nova
Southeastern, No. 18 Barry and Tampa.
Incarnate Word of Texas is No. 1 this week.
Seattle University is No. 6
