SEATTLE (Sept. 13) Karen Dickson and Tim
LeCount, both of Seattle Pacific University, were named the Great
Northwest Athletic Conference cross country runners of the week
for their performances at the Emerald City Invitational.
Dickson, (So., El Dorado Hills, Ca.) won the
Emerald City women's individual title, finishing the 5k course in
a time of 18:16.3216 seconds ahead of runner-up Kelly
Fullerton of Seattle U. It was the first career victory for
Dickson, whose time was an improvement of 2:15 over a year ago on
the same course.
LeCount, (Sr., Battle Ground, Wa.) finished
third, leading the Falcons to their first-ever team title in the
four-year history of the conference. LeCount, who was coming off
an injury, was clocked in a time of 27:17.44 on the 8,000-meter
layout.
SPU will race at the Sundodger Invitational
Saturday at Lincoln Park in West Seattle.
