Turlock, Calif. (Sept. 4) Alyssa Given pounded
out a career-high 13 kills to lead Seattle Pacific to its second
straight sweep with a victory over Nova Southeastern in the final
day of the Togos Warrior Classic, hosted by Cal State Stanislaus.
The Falcons (4-4), who have won two straight
matches, knocked off the Knights (1-4) 30-28, 30-23, 30-23. SPU
finished the tournament with a 2-1 record after splitting a pair
of matches yesterday.
Given (Fr., Salinas, Ca.) also had a match-high
three service aces and hit for a .235 percentage. Katie Ralph
(Jr., Port Orchard, Wa.) tallied 12 kills and hit at a .400 clip.
SPU finished with a team hitting percentage of .231, its second
finest performance of the year.
Jenna Von Moos (So., Stanwood, Wa.) had another
solid all-around performance with nine kills, 30 assists and seven
digs. Tiffany Butac (So., Pearl City, Hi.) led the defensive
effort with 13 digs.
The Falcons return home for their Great
Northwest Athletic Conference opener against cross-city rival
Seattle University on Friday at 7 pm.
