POMONA, Calif. (Sept. 1) ­ Jenna Von Moos hit for a career-high 12 kills and added four blocks and 28 assists as Seattle Pacific University snapped a three-match losing streak by beating Cal Poly Pomona in five games in a non-conference volleyball match at Kellogg Gym Wednesday.

The Falcons (2-3) also got 10 kills and eight digs from Kathleen Monda (Sr., Woodinville, Wa.) in coming from a 2-0 deficit in games to prevail 17-30, 28-30, 30-27, 30-19 and 15-13.

Allison Anderson topped the Broncos (3-2) with 20 kills and five blocks.

Gathering strength as the match wore on, SPU closed out game three with a kill by Katie Ralph (Jr., Port Orchard, Wa./South Kitsap). In the decisive fifth game, Seattle Pacific led nearly the entire way. Von Moos (So., Stanwood, Wa.) set-up Chelsey Myers (Jr., Minden, Nv.) for the final kill. The falcons hit a blazing .526 in the final game.

Myers and Ralph each had nine kills. Von Moos hit .455, scoring a dozen points off 22 attempts.

SPU proceeds to the Togo's Warrior Classic beginning Friday at Turlock, Calif. It meets Saint Mary's (Tx.) in a morning match before facing host Cal State Stanislaus.
