2004 Schedule

SEATTLE –Seattle Pacific University’s bid to return to the NCAA Division II volleyball tournament will face an early test as the Falcons face two teams which finished among the top 10 nationally in 2003.

Seattle Pacific opens 2004 with eight consecutive matches in California before coming home to begin Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. The Falcons visit San Diego for a tournament involving NCAA semifinalist Cal State San Bernardino and UC San Diego Aug. 27-28.

Following that tournament, a single match at Cal Poly Pomona and another tourney at Cal State Stanislaus, SPU hosts the first of nine home matches Sept. 10 versus Seattle University, another playoff team. In all, 11 of the first 13 matches are on the road.

Coach Kellie Ryan returns for her fifth season. Her four returning starters are middles Katie Ralph and Whitney Dibble and outsides Chelsey Myers and Jessica Bauder. SPU, which qualified for NCAA tournament appearances in 2000 and ’01, finished 15-10 last year.
