SEATTLE (June 8) Autumn Fielding, a
5-foot-9 wing who started for Idaho as a freshman in 2002-03, will
transfer and play womens basketball at Seattle Pacific
University next season.
Fielding, who will be a sophomore, started all
28 games for the Vandals, and led the team in points (339/12.1),
minutes (1048/37.4), steals (50/1.8) and was the co-leader in
assists (89/3.2). She received honorable mention all-Big West
honors.
The Kennewick High School graduate did not play
this past season, and left Idaho following fall term.
Fielding joins a Seattle Pacific program which
was 30-1 and finished No. 3 among NCAA Division II teams. The
Falcons won their second straight Great Northwest Athletic
Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight. They
lost two starting forwards, Valerie Gustafson and Kristin Poe, to
graduation.
Coach Gordy Presnells recruiting for
2004-05 is now complete. Earlier, SPU received commitments from
high school seniors Quinn Brewe and Lexi Schaar.
