BELLINGHAM (Apr. 30) Seattle Pacific University's Kristin Janney won the 100-meter hurdles in a personal-best time and the Falcons won four events altogether at the Western Washington Twilight track & field meet Friday night at Viking Field.

In the final meet prior to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championship next Saturday in Monmouth, Ore., Janney (Fr., White Salmon, Wa./Columbia) clocked a time of 15.28 seconds. She competed in five events, finishing fourth in both the 100 (13.07) and 200 (27.15).

Other victors for SPU included Eddie Strickler (Fr., Richland, Wa.) in the men's 400 (50.04), Dianna Grossglass (So., LaConner, Wa.) in the 400 hurdles (1:07.38) and Brandi McCoy (Fr., Richland, Wa.) in the 800 (2:18.08). The time was a PR for Grossglass and she also high-jumped 5 feet, 2 1/4 inches, finishing third.

Elsewhere in the field events, Jennifer Urrutia (Fr., Sunnyside, Wa.) threw the shot 35-3, placing third, and the hammer 130-7 to take sixth. Both were season-best marks. Amy Harris (So., Philomath, Or.) was runner-up in the pole vault at 10-11 3/4.

Many of the Falcons' frontline athletes took the week off to rest and prepare for the conference meet.
