Schaafsma Earns GNAC Women's Track Athlete of Week Award

Janna Schaafsma of Seattle Pacific University was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference female track & field athlete of the week.

SEATTLE (Apr. 12) ­ Janna Schaafsma of Seattle Pacific University was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference female track & field athlete of the week after leading the Falcons to the Shotwell Invitational team title Saturday.

Schaafsma (So., Soldotna, Ak.) won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.30 and clocked a personal record and GNAC season best time of 1 minute, 4.26 seconds in the 400 hurdles, taking second.

SPU competes at the Spike Arlt Invitational in Ellensburg Saturday.
