DENTON, Tx. (Apr. 10)Jaynie Reynolds tied
for second on balance beam and notched a sixth place finish on the
uneven bars and teammates Sarah Sullivan, Debra Huss and Kari
Kelly tumbled All-America performances on vault and floor exercise
for Seattle Pacific University in the womens event finals at
the USA Gymnastics National Championships Saturday night at Kitty
Magee Arena.
Reynolds (So., White Rock, B.C.) negotiated the
balance beam along with Cornells Shellen Goltz to a 9.750,
just .50 off the pace of Air Forces Jessica Liegl (9.8). The
sophomore swung a 9.350 on the uneven bars to place sixth. The
performances earned Reynolds the first and second
All-America accolades of her career.
Huss (Fr., Orangevale, Ca.), a championship
contender on floor all season long and just a freshman, danced a
9.800 tie with Liegl for third place honors. Teammate Kelly (Jr.,
Yakima, Wa.) tumbled fifth place (9.775) on the mats. Kelly was an
All-America selection on vault as a sophomore.
Sullivan (Fr., Salem, Or.) launched a 9.650 to
land fifth place on vault. Alaska Anchorages Dominique
Ingram won vault with a 9.925. Ingram finished first on floor
exercise as well (9.900).
UC Davis Nicole Doherty swung a 9.625 tie
with Centenarys Jennifer Jackson to finish first on the
uneven bars.
