Marsh Makes NCAA 800 Meters Standard at Stanford Track Meet
March 26, 2004

PALO ALTO, Calif. (Mar. 26) ­ Jennifer Marsh of Seattle Pacific University made the NCAA provisional qualifying list while finishing sixth in her section of the 800 meters at the Stanford Invitational track & field meet Friday.

Marsh (Fr., Kirkland, Wa./Juanita) ran a personal-best time of 2 minutes, 13.82 seconds­the best in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and No. 5 nationally among Div. II runners this season. Ayishetu Insah of Utah Valley won the race in 2:12.53.

In the javelin, Sara Johnson (Jr., Kennewick, Wa.) finished sixth with a throw of 143 feet, 5 inches­four feet short of her top mark. Erica Wheeler won at 175-0.

The only other Falcon competing Friday was Kinyatta Leonhardt (Fr., Petaluma, Ca.), who ran a time of 1:01.33 in the 400 dash.

Seattle Pacific will send a squad to Saturday¹s Hornet Invitational at Sacramento State.
