BERKELEY, Calif. (Mar. 25) Dan Larimer
of Seattle Pacific University finished second in his decathlon
group and the Falcons' Linda Blake was seventh in the heptathlon
at the California Multi Event meet which concluded Thursday at
Edwards Stadium.
Larimer (Fr., Libby, Mt.) scored 5867 points to
automatically qualify for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference
championships next month. Tyler May of Willamette won with 6405.
Seattle Pacific's Chris Randolph (So., Lone Tree, Co./Denver
Christian), the GNAC decathlon runner-up last year, did not
compete due to an ankle injury.
Blake (So., Richland, Wa.) scored 4032more
than 400 points off her personal best. Kristin Janney (Fr., White
Salmon, Wa.) was eighth with 3847 and Sharon Bjella (Fr., Everett,
Wa./Everett) was 13th with 3315. All three automatically qualified
for the GNAC heptathlon.
