Taylor Earns GNAC Award for Clutch Performance
March 16, 2004

SEATTLE (March 16) – Amy Taylor of Elite Eight-bound Seattle Pacific University was named women’s basketball player of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference following her clutch performance in Monday’s regional championship game.

Taylor (Jr., 5-8, Shoreline, Wa./Shorewood-Oregon) scored 15 of her 21 points in the final 10 minutes to reverse the momentum and help the Falcons (30-0) pull away from Cal Poly Pomona, 80-63, to take the West Region crown. She hit five three-pointers and also had 10 assists.

For the three-game regional, Taylor totaled 40 points, 25 assists and just two turnovers to earn a spot on the all-tournament team. SPU resumes action Mar. 24 against Drury (Mo.) in St. Joseph, Mo.
