SPU Javelin Thrower Spears GNAC Women's Track and Field Athlete of Week Award

SEATTLE (Mar. 9) – Sara Johnson of Seattle Pacific University earned female track & field athlete of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Johnson (Jr., Kennewick, Wa.) threw the javelin 147 feet, 7 inches to win the Puget Sound Triangular and make the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying list. It was the No. 2 mark in the nation and a career-best throw by more than 13 feet.

Seattle Pacific competes at the Salzman Invitational in Tacoma Saturday.
