Chivers was voted to the Daktronics all-West Region second
team. |
SEATTLE (Mar. 9) Seattle Pacific
University center Jason Chivers, who led the region and finished
fifth nationally in rebounding, was today voted to the Daktronics
all-West Region second team for mens basketball.
Chivers (Jr., 6-8, Los Angeles, Ca.), who was
voted first team all-Great Northwest Athletic Conference earlier
this week, averaged 11.3 rebounds, and led the team in scoring
(16.3), field-goal percentage (.518) and blocked shots (1.81). He
posted a league-best 18 double-doubles.
The Falcons finished 14-13 this season, and
Chivers is expected to return next season , along with four other
starters.
In all, six of the 10 first and second team
selections hail from GNAC teams.
