SEATTLE (Mar. 2) Three members of the
Seattle Pacific University track & field teams have earned
invitations to the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships next week
in Boston.
Paul Mach (Sr., Seattle, Wa./Kings) is
the No. 5 seed among the entries in the mens 800 meters.
Mach, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion, ran a
school record time of 1 minute, 51.49 seconds in his last outing.
Representing the SPU women are Ally Studer
(Sr., Redmond, Wa./Redmond) in the pole vault and Jennifer Marsh
(Fr., Kirkland, Wa./Juanita) in the 800. Studer, who was fourth at
indoor nationals a year ago, has the No. 6 mark in her field at an
SPU record 12 feet, 4 inches. Marsh, who won the GNAC title last
month, is No. 9 in the 800 field with a best time of 2:13.55.
The NCAA meet will be held Mar. 12-13 at the
Reggie Lewis Center.
