Gustafson Earns Academic All-District Honors for Women's Basketball

Seattle Pacific University’s Valerie Gustafson, the top scorer for the No. 3-ranked women’s basketball team, has been selected to the CoSIDA College Division Academic All-District 8 second team.

SEATTLE (Feb. 19) – Seattle Pacific University’s Valerie Gustafson, the top scorer for the No. 3-ranked women’s basketball team, has been selected to the CoSIDA College Division Academic All-District 8 second team.

Gustafson (Sr., 6-0, Olympia, Wa./Black Hills) has averaged 15.5 points and led the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in field-goal percentage as the Falcons (22-0) have gone unbeaten to date.

She is a European Studies and Spanish major with a 3.49 grade point average, and is a two-time academic all-conference selection. SPU visits Western Oregon Thursday night.

Tessa DeBoer of Western Washington made the academic all-district first team and Alaska Anchorage’s Kamie Jo Massey made the second team, along with Gustafson.
