SPU Women Remain at No. 4 in Division II Poll
February 3, 2004

SEATTLE (Feb. 3) – Seattle Pacific University’s climb in the NCAA Division II women’s basketball rankings came to a temporary end as the Falcons stayed at No. 4 in this week’s USA Today/ESPN poll conducted by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

SPU (18-0), which is one of three remaining undefeated teams, received one first-place vote. The top four spots went unchanged as California (Pa.) collected 21 first-place votes and stayed at No. 1, ahead of Emporia State (Ks.) and Drury (Mo.). Cal State Bakersfield, which dropped to No. 24, is the only other West Region team in the USA TODAY/ESPN poll.

SPU tries to extend it string of 51 straight regular season wins Thursday when it visits Seattle University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game.

Top 25 women's basketball poll, with first-place votes in parentheses, total points based on 25 points for first place through one point for 25th.
