SEATTLE (Feb. 2) Unbeaten and No.
4-ranked Seattle Pacific Universitys Brittney Kroon shared
womens basketball player of the week honors in the Great
Northwest Athletic Conference following a record-breaking
performance last week.
Kroon (So., 6-4, Wasilla, Ak.) scored 28 points
and also had 16 rebounds and 18 blocked shots as the Falcons
(18-0, 9-0 GNAC) finished the first-half of the conference season
undefeated, extending their regular-season win streak to 51 and
their conference streak to 33, with road wins at Northwest
Nazarene and Saint Martins.
Kroon had a school and conference record 13
blocks against NNU, which is the best single-game mark this winter
among NCAA Division II players and ranks sixth all-time since 1993
when the NCAA started keeping track of the statistic. She
currently leads the nation in blocked shots (4.4 bpg).
Seattle Pacific plays at Seattle University on
Thursday night.
