SPU’s Kroon Shares GNAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honor
February 2, 2004

SEATTLE (Feb. 2) – Unbeaten and No. 4-ranked Seattle Pacific University’s Brittney Kroon shared women’s basketball player of the week honors in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference following a record-breaking performance last week.

Kroon (So., 6-4, Wasilla, Ak.) scored 28 points and also had 16 rebounds and 18 blocked shots as the Falcons (18-0, 9-0 GNAC) finished the first-half of the conference season undefeated, extending their regular-season win streak to 51 and their conference streak to 33, with road wins at Northwest Nazarene and Saint Martin’s.

Kroon had a school and conference record 13 blocks against NNU, which is the best single-game mark this winter among NCAA Division II players and ranks sixth all-time since 1993 when the NCAA started keeping track of the statistic. She currently leads the nation in blocked shots (4.4 bpg).

Seattle Pacific plays at Seattle University on Thursday night.
