SEATTLE (Dec. 10) Jennifer Hull, Shannon
Lovejoy and Heidi Jacobson became the first Seattle Pacific
University womens soccer players to earn all-Far West Region
honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Hull (Jr., Eugene, Or./Sheldon) and Lovejoy
(So., Seattle, Wa./Seattle Prep) each made the first team while
Jacobson (So., Kirkland, Wa./Cedar Park Christian) was voted to
the second team. Each had been a first team all-Great Northwest
Athletic Conference selection last month.
Hull finished the regular season as the NCAA
Division II leader in goals-against average and led the GNAC with
12 shutouts. Lovejoy was the only sophomore or freshman on the
regional first team and led the GNAC in scoring with 17 goals and
38 points. Jacobson was the Falcons No. 2 scorer with seven
goals and 22 points.
Seattle Pacific won its second straight
conference championship, qualified for the NCAA playoffs and
finished 17-2-2 and ranked No. 23 in the nation. Coach Chuck
Sekyra expects 10 of his 11 starters to return.
