SEATTLE (Dec. 8) Valerie Gustafson of
Seattle Pacific University earned her second Great Northwest
Athletic Conference womens basketball player of the week
award in three weeks for her prominent role in another couple of
victories for the Falcons.
Last week Gustafson (Sr., 6-0, Olympia, Wa./
Black Hills) scored 54 points, including a career-high 29 points
in a 17-point win over previously unbeaten Chico State. She had 25
points in a 71-61 win over Central Washington. In the two games
she connected on 21-37 shots and also had 15 rebounds and four
steals. Gustafson leads the GNAC in scoring (20.7) and steals
(2.8).
Seattle Pacific (6-0), ranked No. 13 in the
latest NCAA Division II poll, resumes play Friday night in
Portland with a non-conference game at Warner Pacific.
