SEATTLE (Nov. 21) –Alyssa Given of Notre Dame High School in Salinas, Calif., has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Seattle Pacific University.

Given, a 5-foot-10-foot outside, is the most valuable player in the Tri-County Athletic League and a two-time first team all-league selection. The Spirits won the league title this fall and currently they are involved in the Central Coast Section postseason tournament. Last year they were first in the CCS and second in NorCal.

A three-sport athlete, Given also has lettered in basketball and softball at Notre Dame.

Seattle Pacific head coach Kellie Ryan has taken her teams to the NCAA Division II tournament two of the past four seasons. The Falcons finished their season earlier this month at 15-10. They return four starters in 2004.
