Lovejoy, Ward Earn GNAC Booters of the Week

SEATTLE (Nov. 10) – James Ward and Shannon Lovejoy of Seattle Pacific University were selected as men’s and women’s soccer players of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Ward (Jr., Salem, Or/Sprague) allowed just one goal in a pair of victories. He was redited with 11 saves, including a penalty kick stop versus Western Washington. Ward made six saves in a 2-1 upset of No. 21 UC Davis. He finished the season with a GNAC-best goals-against average of 1.16.

Lovejoy (So., Seattle, Wa./Seattle Prep) scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Falcons the GNAC title outright. She has a league-leading 16 goals and has now scored in her last seven games.
