SEATTLE (Nov. 5) -- A total of 14 Seattle
Pacific University soccer playersthree men and 11 women -
have been named to the 2003 Great Northwest Athletic Conference
Soccer Academic all-star team.
The Falcon women led all GNAC teams with their
11 selections, and five SPU were repeat recipients: Michelle
Sanders (Jr., Centralia, Wa.), Jessica Henson (Jr., Spokane,
Wa./University), Katie Lim (Jr., Hillsboro, Or.), Jennifer Hull
(Jr., Eugene, Or./Sheldon) and Karen France (Jr., Woodland Park,
Co./Palmer).
Michael Schefter (Jr., Yakima, Wa./West Valley)
was a three-time selection for the men while James Ward (Jr.,
Salem, Or./Sprague) made it for the second time.
To be eligible for the academic team,
student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20
and be in at least their second year of competition at their
university.
