SEATTLE (Nov. 3) Going into the final
week of the regular season, Seattle Pacific University has broken
into the top 10 of the NCAA Division II womens soccer
rankings.
The Falcons (16-1-2) moved up two spots and are
now 10th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America
(NSCAA) coaches poll. Metro State (Co.), the nations lone
remaining unbeaten team, remained No. 1.
Seattle Pacific has won nine straight games and
is unbeaten in its last 16 games. It has already clinched at least
a tie for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship and
can win the crown outright with a tie or win Saturday (Nov. 8) at
Seattle University.
NCAA tournament bids will be announced next
Monday. The Far West Region will receive four bids. UC San Diego,
currently No. 3 in the nation, was the top-rated regional team
ahead of SPU last week.
