ELLENSBURG, Wa. (Nov. 1) A combined 27
kills by Jessica Bauder and Katie Ralph was not enough for the
Seattle Pacific University womens volleyball team as Central
Washington won the Great Northwest Athletic Conference match
30-22, 30-22, 26-30, 30-25 Saturday night.
The Falcons (14-8, 7-8) got out of the gates
slow, while the Wildcats (9-13, 8-6) did the opposite as the two
teams posted .121 and .317 hitting percentages, respectively, in
the first two games of the match. SPU managed to get on the board
by winning game three while Centrals offense waned, but the
Wildcats regained control in game four to seal the victory.
Bauder (Jr., Richland, Wa./Colorado Basin) led
the Falcons with 14 kills, a pair of service aces and 24 digs.
Ralph (So., Port Orchard, Wa./E. Tennessee) wasnt far behind
with 13 kills and a team-high .333 hitting mark and four blocks to
lead the Falcons defense.
SPU returns home next Saturday to face Western
Washington.
