October 25, 2003

NAMPA, Id. (Oct. 25)—Michelle Sanders scored twice to push 13th-ranked Seattle Pacific University over Northwest Nazarene 4-1, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women’s soccer match Saturday in Nampa.

With the win, Seattle Pacific (14-1-2)/8-0-1) boosted its school record unbeaten streak to 14 games with three left to play in the regular season. Sanders (Jr., Centralia, Wa.) opened up scoring in the match with assistance from Heidi Jacobson (So., Bothell, Wa./Cedar Park Christian-Gonzaga) and garnered an assist of her own on a Shannon Lovejoy (So., Seattle, Wa./Seattle Prep.) strike at 9:08. Sanders and Jacobson hooked up again at 33:25 to make it 3-0 Falcons at the half.

Jessica Henson (Jr., Spokane, Wa./University) beat NNU keeper Shauna Voss to the back of the net at 71:03 for the final margin. Allison Teague (So., Redmond, Wa./Bellevue Christian-Santa Clara) earned an assist on the play.
