BELLINGHAM, WASH (Oct. 11) It took
little more than an hour for the Seattle Pacific University womens
volleyball team to fall 25-30, 17-30, 22-30 at the hands of No.
4-ranked Western Washington University in a Great Northwest
Athletic Conference match Saturday night at Sam Carver Gymnasium.
The loss snaps a two-match unbeaten streak for
the Falcons (11-5, 4-5), while the Vikings (15-1, 9-0) maintain
their solo perch atop the GNAC. The 0-3 sweep, which came in just
79 minutes, is the second for the Falcons this season.
Katie Ralph (So., Port Orchard, Wa./S. Kitsap)
led the SPU offense with nine kills and zero errors for a
remarkable .429 hitting percentage. Andrea Pennington (Sr.,
Bellingham, Wa./Whatcom CC) led the Falcons from the backline with
14 of the teams 62 digs overall.
For the Vikings, Megan Evoy and Jamie Peterson
combined for 27 kills, supported by Liz Bishop who recorded 41
assists.
The Falcons continue their season-long
three-match road trip this Thursday, Oct. 16 at Humboldt State.
