ARCATA, Ca. (Sept. 25)--Jessica Henson booted a
goal in each half to lift Seattle Pacific University over Humboldt
State 2-0 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer
match Thursday afternoon in Arcata.
Henson (Jr., Spokane, Wa./University) found the
back of the Lumberjack net off a penalty kick at 21:27 to give the
Falcons a 1-0 lead at intermission.
At 71:58, the junior volleyed a Michelle
Sanders (Jr., Centralia, Wa.) cross past HSU keeper Staci Self.
Henson took two shots total in the match.
Falcon keeper Jennifer Hull (Jr., Eugene,
Or./Sheldon) registered four saves en route to a shut out while
the Lumberjacks' (5-3-0/3-1-0) Self saved two potential goals.
Seattle Pacific earned three corner kicks to Humboldt's one, but
was out shot 7-8.
The Falcons (7-1-1/3-0-1) continue their road
trip with a match against the California Collegiate Athletic
Conference's Chico State on Saturday evening. Kick-off is
scheduled for 7PM. Seattle Pacific returns to Seattle for a Great
Northwest Athletic Conference match against Central Washington on
Oct. 1.
