Lavin Splits Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week Award

SEATTLE (Sept. 22) - Seattle Pacific University's Josie Lavin (Jr., Bremerton, Wa.) shared cross country runner of the week honors in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference following her win at the Central Washington Invitational.

Lavin won for the first time in her career, leading from start to finish and covering the 5000-meter trail in 19 minutes, 22 seconds -- 9 seconds ahead of the next runner. The Falcons finished second overall.

SPU competes in the Sundodger Invitational Saturday at Lincoln Park.
