BURNABY, B.C. (Sept. 17) -- Jeremy Yerkes
scored with less than 11 minutes left in regulation as Seattle
Pacific University salvaged a 2-2 overtime tie with Simon Fraser
in a non-conference men's soccer game at Swangard Stadium
Wednesday night.
Yerkes (Jr., Gresham, Or.) maneuvered past two
defenders then sent a shot under Clan goalie Raegyn Hall for his
third goal of the season.
The teams played the remaining 30 minutes of
regulation and overtime without a goal.
Nick Letts (So., Dublin, Ca.) had staked the
Falcons (1-4-1) to an early lead, scoring in the 10th minute off
an assist by David Smith.
After the Clan scored twice, SPU Coach Cliff
McCrath moved James Ward from goal up to forward for the remaining
36 minutes, with Michael Lockwood taking his place in the net.
Lockwood made two saves in the overtime which was played in a
downpour.
